We build and renovate homes across Whitstable, Herne Bay, Canterbury, and the wider Kent coast. Because we employ our own trades, you can also hire us for electrical, heating and plumbing, or scaffolding on its own, as part of a bigger project or as a single job.

Which areas do you cover?
We build and renovate homes across Whitstable, Herne Bay, and Canterbury, including Seasalter and Tankerton. If you're nearby and not sure, ask. We'll tell you straight.
Who manages my project?
The person who quotes your project runs it, start to finish, and you'll have their number from the first day.
Do you use subcontractors?
Our electrical, heating and plumbing, and scaffolding are all done by our own team. If a project needs a specialist trade we don't employ, we bring them in and manage them ourselves, so you still deal with one person.
Can I hire you for just electrical or plumbing work?
Yes. We take on rewires, boiler replacements, bathrooms, and scaffolding as standalone jobs, as well as work within our own builds.
Are you accredited and insured?
Yes. Whatever the trade, the work is carried out by qualified, certified people, and we’re fully insured for all of it. We’re happy to share our certificates and insurance details before any work starts.

The project
Every stage, under one roof.
St Mary’s Grove is a new detached family home in Seasalter, and MOTE built every part of it. With the whole job in one firm’s hands, each trade was ready the moment the last finished, questions were settled on site rather than passed between contractors, and one person stayed accountable throughout.

What we did.
Groundworks and structure
Foundations, walls, and roof, set out and built by MOTE. Getting this stage right early is what kept the rest of the programme on track.
Services
Electrics, heating, and plumbing installed by our engineers and tested before the walls were closed. The same people planned the layout and the services, so nothing had to be chased in or moved later.
Exterior and finishes
Render, cladding, glazing, and the interior finishes, followed by the lighting, driveway, and garden. All of it was completed in the same programme, so the house was ready to live in from the first day.

A brick building, reworked front to back.
[One or two sentences on the house before work started, and what the owners wanted from it.]We kept the character of the brickwork and the arched openings, and reworked everything behind them: [new layout, kitchen, bathrooms, and loft]. Our own electricians and plumbers worked alongside the build team from the first week, so the job never stalled waiting on another firm, and one person answered for all of it.

The shell
We [cleaned and repointed] the brickwork and fitted [new] black timber windows and doors within the original openings. The lower walls were painted dark to ground the house in the street, with the red brick arches left to stand out.
